Leah K Barison, LPCC

I provide genuine, thoughtful, and empathic care to help you feel better able to take on life's challenges. My therapeutic style is warm and engaged, with the intention to expand insight and facilitate your desired change. I have seen my clients experience improvements in mood, relationships, confidence, sense of purpose, and achievement.

My approach draws from evidence-based modalities to provide the highest standard of care. I have several specializations which include:

  • college & graduate students

  • relationships

  • lgbtqia+

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • ocd

  • addiction, substance use, and recovery

  • self-esteem

  • work/life balance

  • life transitions

In addition to my private practice, I also maintain a position as a therapist at Loyola Marymount University. Prior to opening my doors in Los Angeles, I lived in Boston where I was a therapist at Boston University and in private practice. My role as your therapist is a privilege; I take great care to meet you wherever you are emotionally so that I may join your journey and help you make the changes that will lead to the life that you desire.

“Life as a therapist is a life of service in which we daily transcend our personal wishes and turn our gaze toward the needs and growth of the other. We take pleasure not only in the growth of our client but also in the ripple effect—the salutary influence our clients have upon those whom they touch in life.”
